VERO BEACH, Fla. / Oct. 5, 2017 – There aren’t many more scenic views in Vero Beach than a drive down Highway A1A. You can see the blue waters of the Atlantic on your left and right.
The landscape along the ocean-front highway looks even better now thanks to a team of real estate agents and support staff from a Vero Beach agency.
A group from Weichert, Realtors® – Hallmark Properties walked up and down a one-mile stretch of the highway on Sept. 27 picking up trash and debris. It’s something the office does throughout the year as part of the state’s Adopt-a-Highway clean-up program.
“Believe it or not, we actually have a fun time walking up and down the highway picking up trash,” said Stacy Caffrey, an office administrator at the Vero Beach Weichert® affiliate. “We try and go out about every three months to clean up our one-mile stretch of adopted highway. It’s something we’ve been proud to do for the last five years.”
Dressed in their fluorescent-colored safety vests, Caffrey and her team walked north and south on the highway scooping up trash. The clean-up crew bagged about 30 pounds of trash by day’s end, leaving their one-mile stretch of highway litter-free.
