BLUFFTON, S.C. / Oct. 23, 2019 – DJ Mainar’s feet are constantly moving. Whether he’s running out to show a house or dancing to Latin music.
It’s one reason why the Weichert, Realtors® – Coastal Properties real estate agent joined a local Mexican dance troupe earlier this year. A chance to help people in his community was another.
Mainar performed publicly for the first time with his dance troupe, Quetzalcoatl, at last month’s Latin Food Festival at Shelter Cove Park, which doubled as a benefit that raised close to $80,000 for the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic. The clinic serves the health and wellness needs of medically underserved residents on Hilton Head and Daufuskie Islands.
Mainar was a bit nervous about performing. Much like he was closing his first real estate deal – but knew doing both helped others.
“I was definitely a little nervous performing for the first time in public with Quetzalcoat,” said Mainar. “Most of the people in this group have been performing together for years, and here I am the new guy. But knowing my dancing would help others calmed my nerves.”
Mainar and his dance troupe were among the many entertainers who performed at the September 29 festival, which offered the public a chance to experience all the tastes, sights and sounds from Latin America.
Participating in this year’s festival also offered Mainar a way to give back to the communities he serves – especially those in need. Giving back to the community is a top priority for Mainar and something his broker encourages all of its agents to do.
