DURHAM, N.C. / Nov. 19, 2019 – Rich Baumgarten and Philip Falzarano, both realtors at Weichert, Realtors® – Triangle in Durham, believe firmly in the motto: Go big or go home!
You can see that motto in action as the two men step up their efforts for this year’s Socks & Underwear Collection Drive, which benefits the Durham Rescue Mission.
Last year, the Weichert® affiliated agents went door-to-door in the Holland Crossing and Miramonte sub-divisions in Apex to ask for socks, underwear and personal hygiene products. The day’s effort yielded carloads of donated items for the Durham charity.
“Our goal last year was to collect as many pairs of socks, underwear and personal hygiene products as possible and deliver them to the Durham Rescue Mission,” said Baumgarten. “And I think we did pretty well. But I know we can do even better this year.”
To do so, Baumgarten and Falzarano reached out to local businesses – including several Starbucks, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Academy Sports – to help with this year’s drive.
Flyers, along with collection boxes, have been placed in all the businesses so customers can help support the sock and underwear drive. Baumgarten and Falzarano will also be going door-to-door again this year to ask for donations.
All the collected items will be dropped off after Durham Rescue Mission after Thanksgiving.
“Rich and I can’t thank these local businesses enough for their support this year with our socks and underwear drive,” said Falzarano. “I have no doubt that we’ll collect way more items for an amazing organization that helps people in our community.”
