Franchise success spotlight: Weichert® affiliate Kellie Barter, owner of Weichert, Realtors® — R.E. 1790, servicing Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky

Broker spotlight: Kellie Barter, a lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, with a background in Information Technology (IT), decided to take her career path in a different direction by becoming a licensed Realtor®. This was April 2001. Flash forward 19 years almost to the day; it’s the height of the pandemic. Everything is shutting down. Yet Kellie, by then a successful licensed broker, is about to follow through on her meticulous, pre-COVID plan to open up her first Weichert franchise in her beloved hometown, Cincinnati.
We recently caught up with Kellie to ask how she navigated the market fluctuations and unchartered waters to successfully establish her first Weichert office. As she began to ponder the question, Kellie stated enthusiastically, “I opened April of 2020!!!” It was as if the shock itself still surprises her.
Kellie then shared that she firmly believes her brokerage success during those unprecedented times came from the strength of the Weichert Franchise — the Weichert partnership. In fact, she found herself in close contact with key members of the Weichert team who were there for her at every turn. “Without the support and encouragement of Barbara Low (Business Development), Peter Zafonte (Project Specialist, Franchise Services), and Bill Scavone (President), it would have been extremely hard to stay positive and grow.”
Today, Kellie operates three successful Weichert brokerages under the name Weichert, Realtors® – R.E. 1790, which services Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
