PORT CLINTON, Ohio / February 1, 2023 – Brandon Fitt, broker/sales manager with Weichert, Realtors® – Morgan Realty Group in Port Clinton, recently qualified for and received his commercial drone license (Federal Aviation Administration part 107).
In order to take real estate photos, or use a drone in any manner beyond recreation, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires the drone pilot be licensed with a part 107, which involves taking a test covering general aviation knowledge, understanding airspace designations, understanding weather, pilot safety, and applying for an FAA license.
Fitt took classes through the Pilot Institute to prepare for his commercial drone licensing test. “I wanted to know more than just the required questions to pass the test. Learning through the Pilot Institute gave me all the information that I could need to be a safe and efficient drone pilot,” said Fitt.
Drone photography is becoming a very popular means to showcase real estate. “I feel that drone photos are an important tool to market homes,” added Fitt. “Using a drone for exterior pictures gives buyers a greater appreciation for the house and its location.”
