MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. / August 24, 2023 – Broker/Owner Dorothy Botsoe of Weichert, Realtors® – Signature Properties in Mount Kisco has been named the 2024 Chair of the Fair Housing Policy Committee for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
NAR’s Fair Housing Policy Committee develops the organization’s position on public policies promoting equal opportunity in housing and diversity within the real estate industry. The committee develops and oversees national fair housing and diversity partnership agreements with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), identifies fair housing education needs and goals, and shares equal opportunity and fair housing knowledge, expertise, analysis, and information with other NAR committees.
“I’m thrilled to take on this new role and lead the Fair Housing Policy Committee,” said Botsoe. “I hope to guide productive conversations and bring everyone to the table to help improve our real estate industry.”
Botsoe is an award-winning real estate broker who has over 30 years of experience in the industry. A native of West Ghana, she made history when she became the first African-American president of the Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS® in 2017. She’s earned many honors during her extensive career, including being named the REALTOR® of the Year by the New York Association of REALTORS®, the Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS®, and the New York State Chapter of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®.
In addition, she was honored by the Westchester Residential Opportunities organization in 2017 for her tireless work on the housing counseling organization. Botsoe also currently volunteers with My Sister’s Place, which provides services for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.
