Weichert, Realtors® – Coastal Properties Offering College Scholarships to Students in Lowcountry Region

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. / January 25, 2022– Weichert, Realtors® – Coastal Properties, one of the area’s premier real estate brokerages, has announced the creation of two scholarships that will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in the Lowcountry region who are pursuing a full-time college education.

The company, in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, is offering two $1,000 college scholarships to two separate applicants who are selected by the company’s five-person Scholarship Committee. Applications are due by Monday, April 4^th at 5:00PM and winners will be announced this May.

Criteria for eligibility:

1. Applicant must be a resident of Hilton Head, Bluffton, Beaufort, Ridgeland, Okatie or Hardeeville, South Carolina, or a student at Savannah High School or Beach High School in Georgia.
2. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the current year of the scholarship.
3. Applicant must be in acceptable/good academic standing.
4. Applicant must demonstrate involvement in the community.

2. Complete a one-page essay describing goals and aspirations and a supplementary essay answering any of three prompts related to the meaning of “Home” to you.
3. Include a complete high school transcript.

* Selection is not based solely on academic merit but mainly on drive to achieve.
* Finalists will have a personal interview with the selection committee.
